The blenders at Ron Botran utilize a version of the old winemaking technique known as a solera meant to harness the freshness of young spirits in conjunction with the depth and complexity of old.
Ageing: Dynamic Ageing (Solera adapted). Blend of 5 to 18 year old rum.
Casks: Ex-American Whiskey. Ex-American Whiskey Medium Toasted. Ex-Sherry Wine (Oloroso). Ex-Port Wine (Tawny).
Tasting notes: Colour: Deep mahogany with beams of reddish light; Nose: Initial notes of maple syrup and caramelized aromas. Dark chocolate notes emerge as the rum evolves in the glass; Palate: Dry with notes of dried plum and dark chocolate; Finish: Toasted oak and dark chocolate notes.
