Created in directly fired stills using old-styled sherry and smoke, this perfectly harmonised 35 Year Old whisky was originally created for the Italian export market. Hailing from Dufftown’s legendary Mortlach Distillery, the 1936 expression was bottled by Gordon Macphail at 43% abv.

Nose: Notes of hard Belgian toffee and a sweet smokiness.

Palate: Flavours evident include wax, sultanas, mint, red fruit gums and turkish delights.

Finish: Long and dry with smoke and soft resin.

Mortlach distillery is a distiller of Scotch whisky in Dufftown, Moray, Scotland. Founded in 1823, the distillery is currently owned by Diageo. The whisky is a key component in several Johnnie Walker bottlings., while Diageo also markets four Mortlach single malts. The still pictured above is Dufftown distillery.
