Meet the producer
Merry Edwards has been a pioneering Californian winemaker since 1977, blending scientific expertise with artistic vision. Renowned for her clonal research, her UCD37, or “Merry Edwards Selection,” has been a benchmark in the Russian River Valley since 1975. Certified Sustainable since 2017, the estate is entirely vegan-friendly and employs environmentally conscious viticulture and energy-efficient winery practices.
Production
Grapes are grown sustainably, with careful soil management, cover crops, insect-friendly flower borders, deficit irrigation, and full recycling of green waste. The wine is fermented fully in French oak barrels (18% new, Cadus) and aged with biweekly lees stirring for six months, which enhances texture and mouthfeel.
Tasting notes
This lively wine has a golden-green hue and an aromatic nose of tangerine, guava, honeydew, cantaloupe, white blossom, and marzipan. On the palate, sweet oak balances crisp acidity, while a juicy finish delivers a hint of zesty grapefruit.
Food match
Pairs beautifully with Kaffir lime and coconut soup with black cod, complementing the slightly spicy, aromatic flavours of the dish.
