Horse Soldier Bourbon Whiskey is crafted by a group of ex-Special Forces vets from Operational Detachment Alpha Team 595 – nicknamed the “Horse Soldiers”. After sticking together through thick and thick, the group of friends got together nearly 20 years after their military service and continued their service in a different way: this time, by making award-winning all-natural, all-American Bourbon at their American Freedom Distillery.
Horse Soldier 12 Year Old is their most special, premium offering: it’s crafted from the oldest barrels in their signature Reserve collection. The mash bill of corn, rye, and malted barley was aged for a magic number of 12 years in new American White Oak before it was bottled at 48.5% ABV. It immediately won Double Gold at the 2019 San Fran Spirits Competition. 1 of 1,000 bottles.
