Size: 750ML
Proof: 80 (40% ABV)
Origin: Scotland
Distillery: Glenrothes Distillery
A rather interesting release from the Glenrothes distillery in the Speyside region, which was finished in casks which previous held peated whisky from Islay. It somewhat feels like Glenrothes are harking back to the days when they produced lightly peated whisky – which was quite a long while ago indeed!
Glenrothes Peated Cask Reserve Scotch Whisky Tasting Notes
Nose: Retains the well-rounded toffee and orchard fruit sweetness that Glenrothes whiskies are known for, with light suggestions of charred wood and moss.
Palate: Chilli-chocolate, wood smoke, slightly vegetal. A hint of Mars ice cream bars too.
Finish: Still quite spicy on the finish.
