A well-aged, very-sherried release from Elixir Distiller’s Director’s Special range – a 43-year-old single cask from Glenallachie. This was matured in a sherry butt for its whole life, as you can tell from its ruby colour. It’s a sister cask of the whisky we released for The Whisky Exchange’s tenth anniversary, and this is even better than that excellent bottling – big, rich and sherried.

Nose: Aroma is very pleasant.

Palate: Sweet, smooth and with a real oak flavour.

Distillery Information

Glenallachie is a malt whisky distillery on Speyside at Aberlour founded in 1967. It has mainly produced whisky for blends. Under Chivas ownership it released 2 official bottlings at cask strength, one of 16 and one of 18 years old. A new core range of 10, 12, 18 and 25 year old whisky was released in 2018 under the new ownership, as well as additional single cask releases.
