El Ladrón (The Thief) is distilled in Santa Cruz, California from agave juice sourced from the highlands of Jalisco. The Reposado is aged from 3-6 months in a combination of new and used whiskey barrels and is bottled at 94 proof.
El Ladron Reposado Blue Agave Tequila Tasting Notes
Nose: A slight cinnamon note greets you and the vegetal characteristic is on the low side and more reminiscent of nopalitos (prickly pear cactus pads).
Palate: There’s more of a sweet vanilla note which continues on the palate. These flavors, however, are short-lived as the finish comes quickly with a dry and bitter profile.
Finish: There isn’t much sweetness or depth to the product; perhaps this could benefit for a bit more time in barrel.
