Don Papa Rare Cask is a limited edition small batch super premium rum distilled from the island of Negros, Philippines. This has been aged in specifically over toasted American Oak barrels enriching the rich fruity flavours with notes of cacao, oak, and hints of wild mint. To enhance its distinctive taste, the cellar master decided to keep the rum unfiltered and unblended, bottling at a high strength (50.5% ABV). There are only 6,000 bottles made for the region.

Nose: Rich and Powerful.

Palate: Rich, Complex Flavours of Oak, Cacao and Fruitcake.

Finish: Long and Fresh with a Hint of Fresh Mint.

Distillery Information

Don Papa was founded by then Rémy Cointreau executive Stephen Carroll. During a trip to Bacolod, Carroll heard stories of the area having the finest sugar cane in the world. Until that time, rum from the country had been distilled in other areas of the Philippines. He founded the Bleeding Heart Rum Company to manufacture the rum in Negros which is considered the sugarcane capital of the country.
