Chicken Cock Kentucky Straight Rye is distilled & aged in Owensboro and then Bottled at Bardstown Bourbon Company in Bardstown.It was made in collaboration with Bardstown Bourbon Co. in Louisville, KY. The mash bill includes 95% rye and the whiskey is bottled without chill-filtration at 90 proof. The Chicken Cock brand was first established in 1856 in Paris, Kentucky. It was the house whiskey at The Cotton Club, a famous speakeasy in New York City during Prohibition. It was smuggled in tin cans and opened tableside. A distillery fire just after WWII closed the distillery, but in 2012, the brand was resurrected by Grain & Barrel Spirits.

Nose: The nose reveals a tremendous complexity of spices including pepper and cinnamon, with a hint of dryness and slight overtones of citrus and oak.

Palate: A creamy, almost buttery mouthfeel is complemented by vanilla and butterscotch.

Finish: A long, slow peppery finish with a hint of sweet honey.
