Caperdonich 1994 DL is a 21 year old Single Malt whisky from Scotland. Bottled in 07.2015 at 57.7% this bottle will make a fine addition to any Scotland Single Malt whisky lover. Please note that this Douglas Laing (DL) is Refill Hogshead. It is also worth mentioning that this is uncolored, non-chillfiltered, cask strength, single cask whisky edition of Caperdonich. This is one of only 270 bottles ever produced. A fact, that makes this edition even more desirable.
Caperdonich 1994 DL XOP – Xtra Old Particular 21 Years Old Tasting Notes
Nose: Dry and dusty, barley flour and dried lemon zest and pith, dry spices, leathery, fruit, grapefruit, pineapple, apricot, mostly dried, woody spice and sugars.
Palate: Spiced tropical fruits in syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, white pepper, sweetens to spiced honey, cayenne or chilli pepper heat, aniseed and liquorice.
Finish: Long, more liquorice and allspice, black pepper, toasted oak char and mothballs/camphory wood.
Distillery Information
The Caperdonich distillery was a producer of Speyside single malt Scotch whisky that operated between 1898 and 1902, and then again between 1965 and 2002. Caperdonich whisky was a component of some blends of Chivas Regal.
