Description
Bowmore has released some very legendary drams over the decades, but this one comes with a truly stunning legend behind the Whisky’s bottle design, a snazzy-looking blue ceramic decanter, adorned with seagulls, and kept safe in a matching blue painted wooden box.
The gulls on this bottle come from a Scottish folk tale wherein two lovers, a captured Scottish warrior and the daughter of a Pictish king, were fleeing westwards to Islay. Their boat crashed on the shores of Loch Indaal during a storm and the lovers were never found. A pair of white gulls were seen soaring above the Loch, settling neither on the western nor the eastern shore, as if torn between the two. Legend has it that, to this day, their song echoes at Bowmore distillery before a storm.
As for the legend inside the bottle, you’ll have to open the 22 YO Bowmore and taste it yourself. See, if it goes down in history — and down a treat!
