A cask strength variation on the brilliant Boondocks 11 Year Old American Whiskey, created by former Woodford Reserve master distiller Dave Scheurich. Build using a mashbill featuring plenty of corn, along with rye and malt, this whiskey is distilled to over 160 proof (or 80% ABV) and matures in used charred white oak barrels instead on brand new ones, hence why it isn’t considered a bourbon. It’s bourbon-esque, but not a bourbon, y’know. Oh, and the cask strength is bottled at a hefty 63.5% ABV!
Boondocks 11 Year Old Cask Strength American (63.5%) Whiskey Tasting Notes
Nose: Strong coffee with just a splash of milk, rich cherry sweetness and a subtly floral hint.
Palate: Toasted almonds and spicy rye, underneath layers of brown sugar and cookie dough.
Finish: Lingering buttery corn and stem ginger.
