Spirit of Freedom The 45+ Campbeltown blended Scotch whisky. Limited edition bottled to show recognition for the ever increasing support for Scottish Independence and released in the weeks before the UK General Election 2015. A blend of more than 45 different whiskies from across Scotland.
Blended Scotch
Blended Scotch is a mixture of one or more Single Malt Scotch Whiskies with one or more Single Grain Scotch Whiskies. The inclusion of grain whisky provides a diluting effect on the relatively harsher malt whisky and produces a smoother, milder product. With the resources to mix and blend from a diverse range of whiskies, Scotland’s whisky blenders are able to standardise the colour, strength and taste across their brands thereby generating repeatability and consistency in their blends
Nose: Malty, creamy, vanilla and buttery with hints of marzipan. Then dried apricots and muesli.
Palate: Dried fruits, dates and lime cordial. Heather and parma-violets.
Finish: Subtle hints of peat smoke come through towards the end, finishing with a long malty, honey sweetness.
