Aged for an incredible 37 years, this 1978 vintage single malt Scotch whisky was released as part of this year’s special single cask releases from BenRiach distillery – Batch 13. The wonderful colour comes from time being spent in Tawny Port hogshead #3114 before being bottled in 2016 at 48.8%. A release of 222 bottles only.

Nose: Rich stewed plums develop to gentle tropical fruits dusted with demerara sugar.
Palate: Tart sloe berries, dark treacle and a dusting of cracked black pepper combine with vintage leather and earthy dunnage characters.
Finish: A crisp, floral oak finish.

The BenRiach distillery is a single malt Scotch whisky distillery in the Speyside area of Scotland. It is currently owned by Brown-Forman Corporation after being purchased on 1 June 2016 as a subsidiary from the BenRiach Distillery Company Limited, formed by two South African funding partners, Geoff Bell and Wayne Keiswetter, and Scotch whisky expert Billy Walker.
