Description
White Wine: 2018 | Domaine Clos de la Chapelle | Corton Charlemagne
There’s a slight smokiness, subtle cedar and spice from the oak and still pure grapefruit-like citrus freshness. The palate echoes that complexity and the fruit is quite rich and ripe but still very fresh. Complete and long and there’s more complexity to come. Spicy finish with a mealy character from the oak and so fresh.

- Wine Spectator: Organically certified wine. 0.30 ha of 45-year-old vines on the Pernand-Vergelesses side facing west, with a high proportion of limestone and marl. The palate echoes that complexity and the fruit is quite rich and ripe but still very fresh. Complete and long and there’s more complexity to come. Producer Information
Domaine Clos de la Chapelle is a wine estate in the Volnay appellation of Burgundy. The domaine is made up exclusively of a small number of grand cru and premier cru vineyards in the Côte de Beaune. The Clos de la Chapelle Monopole not only provides the namesake wine for the domaine group but is also one of the flagship vineyards producing Premier Cru Volnay reds from Pinot Noir grapes. The domaine also has premier cru sites in Pommard, Beaune, Pernand-Vergelesses and grand cru sites in Corton. The domaine is certified organic and follows biodynamic farming practices. The history of the estate dates back centuries, but was not known as Clos de la Chapelle until 1937.
