Producer Information
The history of the House of Esterházy goes back to the 13th century. Emperor Leopold I, where the royal line begins, lived from 1683 in the baroque Esterházy palace in Eisenstadt. The family had interests in science, art, music and wine. And the vineyards and cellars were invested with love. Joseph Haydn, the well-known composer at court, also enjoyed the wines. He was even partly paid in wine. The ‘weingut Esterházy’ still exists today. It is equipped with very modern technology and the vineyards are located in the most beautiful locations in Burgenland. The mild climate with 300 sunny days a year, the excellent terroir and, above all, the experience of the winemakers, ensure beautiful wines.
